Weekly Announcements - April 6, 2009
WELCOME BACK: Neal Math and Science Academy welcomes back all students, staff, and families from a long and restful spring break.
SHORTENED WEEKS: Due to holidays, parent-teacher conferences, and pre-registration programs, there are some scheduling changes in the coming weeks:
- Friday, April 10, 2009 - NO SCHOOL for students or staff
- Monday, April 13, 2009 - NO SCHOOL for students or staff
- Thursday, April 16, 2009 - 2-hr EARLY DISMISSAL for students, Parent-Teacher Conferences and Early Registration run from 3:30 - 7:30 pm
- Friday, April 17, 2009 - NO SCHOOL for students, Parent-Teacher Conferences and Early Registration runs from 8:00 - 11:00 am.
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES: Scheduled for April 16 - 17 (see above schedule), parent-teacher conferences are a great time to coordinate your child's education with their classroom teacher. Teachers will be requesting that all parents setup a time to meet in advance. Contact the school for additional information.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY: Occasionally, the North Chicago schools are forced to close due to inclement weather. Please consult ABC 7 News, Univision TV, Univision Radio 105.1 FM, or the Emergency Closing Center for closure information.
NO SCHOOL FRIDAY 2/13 AND MONDAY 2/16: There is no school for students on Friday, February 13 due to Teacher Institute Day activities occurring in all schools in the district. Additionally, students and teachers have no school on Monday, February 16, 2009 to recognize and celebrate President's Day.
FRESHMAN ORIENTATION (THIS DATE CHANGED): The NCCHS Freshman Academy is holding an orientation night on 2/24 from 6 to 7 pm in the High School Auditorium. All 8th grade students are invited to attend.

2-HR EARLY RELEASE 1/23/09: There is a School Improvement Day scheduled for Friday, January 23, 2009. Students will be dismissed 2-hrs early from classes, and teachers will engage in planned professional development activities.

The district athletics department updated the Neal Boys Basketball Rosters today.
Interpreter Services 10/7/08
Interpreter services are available in Spanish and Korean from the bilingual department.
Columbus Day 10/7/08
There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 13, 2008 due to Columbus Day celebrations.
