woods i
Prerequisite: None
Credits: 1
Grades: 9-12
Length: 1 Year
This course is an introduction to the construction trade, woodshop, and related technologies. This course includes: safety practices, use of hand tools, maintenance of equipment, and the use of power equipment. Students will be required to complete a minimum of five to six projects under teacher specifications.
woods ii
Prerequisite:
Woods I with a grade of C or higher
Grades: 10-12
Credits: 0.5
Length: 1 Semester
This course is a continuation of the woodworking processes learned in Woods I. Students will be introduced to a larger scope of machines and woodworking processes in order to discover and develop creative talents. Students will be required to make a class machine tool project and other projects under teacher specifications.
advanced woods
Prerequisite:
Woods I & Woods II with a grade of C or higher
Credits: 0.5
Grades: 10-12
Length: 1 Semester
This course is the final class in which students will further their knowledge of woodworking and occupational choices, or to simply develop a worthy leisure time interest. Students will be required to make a project under teacher specifications. This could possibly include some school improvement.
