NJROTC Accomplishments for the 2006/2007 School Year
NCCHS NJROTC Maintains Excellence for 12 Years
North Chicago Community High School NJROTC was recently selected as a Distinguished Unit for the 12th consecutive year. In order to be considered for this prestigious honor, an NJROTC unit must be actively involved in an array of program activities, community service projects, as well as excel in area Military Drill, Marksmanship Air Rifle shooting, Physical Fitness, and Academic events. Only the top 30 percent of the schools in each NJROTC Area are selected as a Distinguished Unit each year. During the 2006/2007 school year, North Chicago’s NJROTC program competed with over 50 other Area Three schools, finishing as one of only 16 schools to receive this special award. The Naval Science Instructors at NCCHS are extremely proud of the cadets and their achievement. In addition to receiving the 2007 Distinguished Unit Pennant for display on the Unit flag and a Unit certificate, all of the participating cadets during the past school year will receive a Distinguished Unit Ribbon for wear on their cadet uniform.
